Yumedono, Takashi Murakami
I worked with 11th Street Workshop to create build drawings from a working concept.
My role was to value engineer while preserving the design. The Yumedono is a temporary building that would reside within the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Atrium. Inside the Yumedono, Takashi Murakami’s art would be showcased. Murakami added customized architectural elements to the structure. We were able to execute these design directions without compromising the structure.
Create a frame and structure to support the temporary building that could be assembled in a tight timeframe. This drawing set was then stamped for approval through Clark Reder Engineering with minimal revisions.
My role also entailed creating a 100-plus page build deck detailing individual parts of the pagoda. Including the walls, millwork, decorative trims, roof, and ceiling. I was responsible for working with the scenic artists and Project Managers to decide how to construct and attach each element.
